Open Minds, Open Doors is a half-day conference intended to encourage middle school girls (6th-8th grades) to pursue career fields with foundations in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Girls attend hands-on workshops, voluntarily conducted by professional working women introducing them to a variety of careers in the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City corridor.
The 2010 conference date is set for Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010. Registration information will be sent to area schools in September 2010.
