Open Minds, Open Doors

Open Minds, Open Doors is a half-day conference intended to encourage middle school girls (6th-8th grades) to pursue career fields with foundations in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).  Girls attend hands-on workshops, voluntarily conducted by professional working women introducing them to a variety of careers in the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City corridor. 

Open Minds, Open Doors is a partnership between Grant Wood AEA, the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and Coe College. 

The 2008 conference date is tentatively set for Oct. 14.  Registration information will be sent to area schools shortly after the start of the 2008-2009 school year.
