Weighted
Gradebook
If you
weight your gradebook categories, make sure that you
setup the weighting for each term that will have a grade
recorded. In other words, if grades are sent out on
Quarter 1, 2 and Semester 1, make sure you go to each
term under Grade Setup and set the Category Weights for
each term.
Without
proper setup, term grades will be calculated
incorrectly.

Bonus
or Extra Credit Points
To add
bonus or extra credit points the assignment score type
should be set as points with points possible set as
zero.
PowerTeacher-Gradebook won't allow setting score type of
percentage (or letter grade) with points possible of
zero; an alert window appears indicating that
"assignment information is not valid".

Keeping
Track of Textbooks
Many teacher like to record the
textbook numbers for the
books used in class somewhere in their
gradebook. PowerTeacher provides a quick way to accomplish
that.
Simply add a new category for
Textbooks and then add an assignment called Textbook or another
name you like. Uncheck the box to Include in Final Grade for
that assignment. Also uncheck the publish scores checkbox.
Now simply enter the textbook
number (must be a number of 20000 or less)
