Job Summary
Provides leadership for the development and implementation of effective educational programs, including programs for diverse learners. This is one of three Associate Administrator positions that collaboratively supervises and supports staff and also plans, implements and evaluates a wide range of Agency programs and services.
Qualifications:
- Iowa license with either the Director of Special Education or Superintendent endorsement.
- Specialist degree or equivalent.
- Ten years of experience in education, with four years of experience in special education or general education administration.
- Iowa Evaluator Approval license or endorsement.
Essential Functions:
- Provides administrative leadership for all Agency programs, including supervision of staff.
- Provides for overall coordination of programs and services on an area-wide basis.
- Develops an area-wide plan for programs and services.
- Allocates personnel and fiscal resources to achieve Agency goals.
- Serves as the liaison between Grant Wood AEA and other educational partners.
- Participates as a member of the administrative team within the organization and communicates pertinent developments.

- Participates in projects, committees or activities to support the mission of the programs, regions, and Agency.
- Pursues professional growth opportunities and relationships to keep current with and influence educational directions.
- Oversees and establishes priorities in the recruitment, development and supervision of personnel.
- Insures compliance with the intent and provisions of the staff agreements.
- Develops and recommends the policies and procedures governing educational programs and services.
- Assists the Chief Administrator in board agenda preparation and participates in board meetings.
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned.

- Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports and correspondence, and apply appropriate mathematical concepts.
- Ability to travel between schools/sites served and outside of service area.
