VAST Science Units
Fabric

This module invites students to explore fabrics as common materials in their everyday environment. They begin with an investigation of properties of fabrics, and then move on to fabric interactions, which includes getting cloth dirty and cleaning it, dying fabric, and making something useful or esthetically pleasing out of fabric. Pilot teachers were impressed with the way students became aware of fabric in their daily lives.
