The Standards-Based Grading Conference 2017 is designed to support practicing educators to learn how to effectively develop, design and implement a standards-based grading system that aligns with a vision for improved instruction, assessment, and grading and reporting practices that supports the Iowa Core Curriculum.

Classroom practitioners will have the opportunity to share resources and practices that have led to successful implementation.
Participants will engage in learning topics that will support:

• Promoting School Improvement through Leadership
• Supporting Student Learning through Standards
• Implementation of Assessment and Student Feedback Practices
• Engaging in Collaborative Practices to Improve Student Outcomes
• Challenging Traditional Grading Practices.

Additional breakout sessions will be offered by area practitioners experienced in implementing SBG in their schools.

Featured Presenter: Dr. Doug Reeves
Douglas B. Reeves, Ph.D., is author of 30 books and many articles on leadership and organizational effectiveness. Dr. Reeves has twice been named to the Harvard University Distinguished Authors Series. He was named the Brock International Laureate for his contributions to education and also received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the Parents Choice Award for his writing for children and parents. He is the 2010 recipient of the National Staff Development Council’s Contribution to the Field Award.
