Engineering is Elementary Workshop
Oct. 19-20, 2018

Engineering is Elementary

Grant Wood AEA’s Van Allen Science Teaching Center (VAST) is providing a one-day professional learning about the Engineering is Elementary (EiE) curriculum for K-6 educators.

The first 20 people to register will also receive a free set of EiE materials and teacher guide for one of the EiE units.

The workshop will be offered:
Friday Oct. 19 - VAST Center, 1120 33rd Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and
Saturday, Oct. 20, Grant Wood AEA conference center, 4401 Sixth St. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Join this workshop to become familiar with a national elementary STEM curriculum, Engineering is Elementary (EiE). The EiE curriculum was developed at the Museum of Science, Boston.

This workshop introduces elementary teachers to the STEM concepts of Engineering and Technology and prepares teachers to use EiE curriculum with their students. Educators will be more prepared to teach engineering, technology, and problem solving. Participants will experience an EiE unit, and have opportunities to reflect on the learning experiences students will have with EiE, and the instructional strategies learned.

Register online at Grant Wood AEA Professional Learning and search for the workshop with course number 167996.
