Inspiring the Next Generation at Hour Of Code, Dec. 7-13

Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries during Computer Science Education Week, December 7 - 13, 2020. Computer Science Education Week is a great time to help students and staff Inspiring.pngunderstand computer science is fun, creative, and everyone can code! 

Industry partners collaborate with 4th grade teachers to teach students about their jobs in Information Technology and complete an Hour of Code. Grant Wood Area Education Agency hopes to ensure that every 4th grade classroom in its area can get involved and inspire the next generation of programmers!

Hour of Code Resources:

The Grant Wood AEA Digital Learning Team has developed a planning document to support each classroom's Hour of Code blueprint.
Resource collections are available to integrate Computer Science (CS) into your content areas. Each of the resources below includes examples for elementary, middle and high school students.

The Grant Wood AEA Media Center also has coding resources for teachers and students to support Hour of Code.
