FOSS Remote Learning Materials Support
The EISC (Eastern Iowa Science Collaborative) is providing some accommodations for our partner schools during the second and third rotation of units during the 2020-2021 school year to help ease the demands placed on teachers as they prepare materials for students to engage with science at home.
If teachers would like their FOSS unit from the VAST center to be packed with extra supplies to support student packets for remote learners, they can make this request using the surveys below. The extra supplies, support material lists we have created for each unit can be used by the teacher to create individualized packets to send to the homes of remote learners by districts to support hands-on science learning. Some of the materials will need to be sent back with the unit at the end of the rotation when the unit is returned.
Please read the information below about how to make these requests and the important deadlines for getting the requests submitted:
This year's 3rd rotation K-5:
- Teacher names and the number of students needing individual materials must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 15. Please use this form to submit your requests.
- Using the form above, teachers may request the unit be pre-packed with student packets for remote learners.
Information for Grades 6-8:
Due to the difficulty in sending home enough lab materials for students in grades 6-8, we will not be sending material lists to teachers who are teaching remotely or packaging their kits any differently.
