"What do we want students to know and be able to do?"

Being clear about the answer to “What do we want students to know and be able to do?” is the foundation of effective instruction. In a Blended or Personalized environment, the 2018 Kansas Mathematics Flip Books can help teachers create playlists or stations that match the focus, rigor, and coherence of the Iowa Core Mathematics standards. The standards help educators answer this question; however, simply knowing what standards students need to master isn’t enough to ensure high quality instruction. Teachers need to understand the intent and interconnectedness of the standards. The 2018 Kansas Mathematics Flip Books provide clarity about the meaning of the standards and include the Mathematics Teaching Practices, an in-depth look at The Standards for Mathematical Practice, instructional strategies, and resources/tools to support equitable learning opportunities for all students.

Don't miss a Snippet! All Snippets will be archived on this page.
