Welcome to Telling Our Stories: A blog for Grant Wood AEA Teacher Librarians
Blog post authored by Lynn Kleinmeyer
Welcome to Sharing Our Stories, the blog dedicated to building community, amplifying voices and empowering Grant Wood AEA teacher librarians.
I couldn’t be more excited about the launch of this new blog. Many of you have heard me say it repeatedly: Being a teacher librarian can be extremely isolating. We are often singletons in our buildings, or even our districts. We belong to everyone, and yet, no one.
I sincerely hope this blog will be a place for us all to belong, find our community, and to know that there are others who will inspire us by sharing their ideas and their library stories.
The blog will have regular features on area teacher librarians and will highlight the work of area librarians with guest blogs. In addition, the blog will also be a place to explore topics pertinent to our profession and share ideas with regular interactive opportunities as well.
As you become familiar with the blog, you will notice that posts will fall into one of three categories:
Grow (PD, new learning & resources)--
This category will be used for any posts that highlight professional development or to highlight new learning opportunities or resources.
Connect (Teacher librarian features)--
This category will be used for any posts that highlight or feature area teacher librarians.
Share (Exchanging ideas)--
This category will be used for any of our interactive features that highlight an exchange of ideas such as polls, Padlets, Flipgrids, etc.
We hope that this blog will be a place for you to exchange ideas, learn from one another and build a sense of community.
