Toolkit Supports Students with AutismBoy learning at a table

The outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) may be stressful for children. The autism team at The University of North Carolina Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute developed a toolkit to support students with autism during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The toolkit includes templates parents and children can use at home to support understanding. Topics include handwashing, giving people space, creating visual supports and social narratives, and a calendar template for determining a learning schedule at home. The toolkit incorporates photos and clipart to present visual cues.

The UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Center offers evidence-based resources and tools to support children, families and professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Visit their website for information.
