PowerKnowledge at Viola Gibson Elementary a digital resources success story

A GWAEA Digital Resources Success Story!

Students and staff at Viola Gibson, in Cedar Rapids Community School District, have been exploring PowerKnowledge, one of the digital resources GWAEA provides. Travis Wolf, Viola Gibson teacher librarian, shared that students are using PowerKnowledge to research topics like food webs, habitats, life cycles and planets. PowerKnowledge is one of the digital resources students are given the option to use during free time to search topics of interest. Access PowerKnowledge, as well as other great digital resources, through GWAEA OneClick.

Students enjoy watching videos, playing games like Dr. Legbone’s Laboratory, and having the information read to them. Teachers stated, "PowerKnowledge is easy to navigate and has current relevant information, presented in a way that is accessible to all learners." They also liked the articles can be easily saved for future use.
