Future Teacher Network 2022-23

Grant Wood Area Education Agency is pleased to announce the Future Teacher Network 2022-23. This will be a series of free virtual professional learning sessions held each semester which will allow prospective teachers (pre-service teachers currently attending college) the opportunity to build collaborative, professional relationships. Each session will offer a choice of learning opportunities for all future teachers to add to their strategy toolbox and enhance their practice.

First Semester:

Session #1 - September 14, 2022 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. via Zoom
Outcomes: 
At the end of this session, participants will be able to...
  • Learn about the GWAEA Induction Consortium and the Optimal Learning Environment (OLE) Framework
  • Explore effective strategies in building strong teacher-student relationships
  • Implement a new strategy or resource within their student teaching experience to get to know students at a deeper level
Session #2: November 16, 2022 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. via Zoom
Outcomes:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to...
  • Learn how to set high expectations for students while creating a supportive and safe learning environment for all
  • Explore effective strategies in creating emotionally, intellectually and physically safe classroom environments
  • Implement a new strategy or resource within their student teaching experience or their first teaching position to enhance the classroom environment
